The Cloud offers infinitely many great possibilities, from cost savings to machine learning and security benefits to service improvement.The number of endless possibilities of Cloud’s services and features can also create confusion.
That is why we are going back to the basics in this blog. When choosing to go from on-premise to Cloud, a choice must be made between the different Cloud services that are available; IaaS, SaaS and Easter. Terms that regularly pass, but what exactly do they contain?
IaaS – Infrastructure as a Service
IaaS stands for ‘infrastructure as a service; and is regularly called Cloud infrastructure service. Among the different Cloud services, IaaS seems the most on the traditional on-premise service as we have used to in recent years. At IaaS, the infrastructure is moved out of the door, along with all network elements, to the Cloud.
However, the end user retains control of the operating system, database, applications, and data. A major advantage is that hardware must no longer be purchased by the organization itself, but a subscription based on usage (consumption) will be terminated.

PaaS – Platform as a Service
PaaS stands for Platform as a Service, also called Cloud Platform Services. PaaS solutions take even more work from the organization’s organization compared to on-premise and IaaS. In addition to the hardware, the operating system and databases move are placed in the Cloud.
Just like software development. PaaS can be seen as a computing platform where software is developed, tested and produced in a fast and easy way.
Very effective, simple, time-saving and cost-effective, with no regard for a complex maintenance and purchase process of the software and infrastructure underlying it.
The Enterprise PaaS model gives software developers in the business a self-service portal. Thus, the computing infrastructure and platforms that are installed are managed on top of the hardware from one centralized IT operation. The use of PaaS is ideally suited for a combination with IaaS and on-premise.

SaaS – Software as a Service
The third Cloud service in the market is SaaS: ‘Software as a Service’. SaaS is currently the largest Cloud solution and is still growing rapidly. SaaS applications are downloaded as web application via the Internet. This means that the entire application is managed and managed by the provider of the application.
Everything is thus arranged: infrastructure, operating system, management, and development – everything is in the hands of the supplier. Because these are web applications, updates, and bug fixes are also performed by the vendor through the internet.
